At InsideOut
you can expect challenging work, meaningful service and good
clean fun!
This
summer we will be working with Parker Street Ministries and
local organizations and churches to serve people in need. Types
of service projects may include- home building and repair,
neighborhood revitalization, working with underprivileged and
homeless children, building wheelchair ramps, visiting homebound
elderly and more. Give us a call, we'd love to share more with
you about our projects and what you can expect.
Evenings will
be packed full of programs from a simple outdoor
worship service to high energy, multi-media, programming. The
interactive evening programs and challenging morning devotions
help youth connect their service during the day to their
individual walk with God. There will be time each evening for
individual group devotions. This mission trip will be a catalyst
for spiritual growth in the youth that participate as well as
demonstrating God’s love in a practical way to communities in
need.
What
excites us about the work of InsideOut is that we don’t merely
tell people about the love of God– we show them, by loving them
and meeting their needs. We also find that when youth are placed
outside their comfort zones God gets their attention and is able
to work in their lives.
We
handle the projects, planning, meals, materials and programs
so you are free to focus on your youth.

1. What is “missions”?
Missions, simply put, is bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those
who don't know Him as their Lord and Savior. It knows no limits in
territory, people, places, or methods used to reach those who are lost.
God’s desire is that none should perish. So, how has He designed it so
that all can hear?
#1 Through His Holy Spirit
#2 Through His creation
#3 Through us . . .
God has a specific plan for us; A direct Call and a clear Will for
every person.
God's Call to each individual is unique and specific to them. He
uses their upbringing, surrounding environment, and experiences and
couples them with His vision, goals and desires, to shape them into a
unique tool for His hands to mold and guide and use. Eph 4:10 says that,
"we are Gods workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which He prepared in advance for us to do."
God's Will is for each individual to Love God and Love People,
that's the 2 greatest of commandments as seen by Mathew 22:36-40. Now
this love thing is expressed directly through the Great Commission,
found in Matthew 28:18-20: "Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and
surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age." In that, we
need to look at what Jesus said right before this, "all authority has
been given to Me on heaven and earth. . .." That is why we have the
power to go into all the world, because all authority has been given to
Him. And we need to realize that it is enacted by His Presence, "and
surely I am with you, even to the end of the age."
God's Command, to Love Him and Love Others, drives us towards His
Commission to Go, Make Disciples, Baptize, and Teach, which is enabled
by His Power and His Presence.
2. Why do we go on mission trips?
To reach the lost for Jesus and to train participants how to hear God's
voice and to have a heart for the lost. We are not only trying to reach
this generation of lost people, but trying to disciple other Christians,
especially youth, to reach the lost until Christ returns.
We go, plan, organize, implement, and lead mission trips as a response
to Gods will for us. How each individual lives their life is a response
to answering Gods call and living out His will.
3. How did missions begin?
You can debate who was the first missionary from Job to Jesus. The truth
is that when Adam and Eve fell, God's plan to redeem mankind to Himself
was put into action. The greatest missionary of all is Jesus. He paid
the ultimate price to redeem man to God.
Missions was God's design and His heart from the beginning. We in the
Church today have mistakenly thought of missions as a New Testament
thing, a relatively new idea. Not so is the truth of the matter. God has
desired all peoples, nations, and tongues come to him, from the
beginning. Gods covenant with Abraham was that he would bless nations.
God has His sights on all the world to come to the saving knowledge of
Jesus. That's His heart, His vision, His desire.

You

is based on four people to a room. If you would like to have a
fifth person in a room on a sleeping bag, that would be fine.
There is an additional cost for 3 to a room or 2 to a room.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES
There are not coin washers and dryers available at the hotel,
but there are some facilities nearby.
SAFETY & HEALTH
Everything possible is done to make the camp a safe place for
your groups. A modern hospital is only a few minutes drive in
case of emergency. It is imperative that the youth director keep
on hand all of the medical release forms at all times. Copy the
release form and have each participant fully complete two forms.
One form is to be mailed to InsideOut and the other is to be
kept by the youth director. Along with this form, we have found
it to be very helpful if each participant would photocopy their
insurance card and a parent's or guardian's license onto the
back of the release form. This way, important information is
readily available. It is important that every participant has an
up to date tetanus shot. If, during the mission, a participant
gets scraped or steps on a nail and can't remember if their shot
is up to date, they could be spending hours at a clinic or
hospital taking a good chunk out of their day and the youth
director’s day. Each group, of course, is welcome to have their
own Permission slip and Release of Liability but still is
required to have the two copies of ours. While filling these out
is often time consuming and difficult, if they are ever needed
it proves to be time well spent.
EXTRA STUFF
There is a Snack Bar available with soda, cookies, cakes, candy,
gum, or other junk food. Every evening will include time to use
the pool and other hotel amenities. Very snappy InsideOut
t-shirts are available for ten bucks.
A camp DVD will be provided for all groups. Video footage will
be taken during your youth group's week and put together for a
video memory of your summer mission experience. The video will
be a great way for your church to experience the mission week
with you. You are welcome to make copies, you are welcome to
edit in more clips of your group. It is your video after all;
you provided most of the characters and plot.
EMERGENCY
NUMBER
In case of emergency, the (863)
683-3701 voicemail will be checked several times a day.
Upon arrival, we will hand out a cell phone number that is manned (or
womanned) 24 hours. We strongly recommend that each youth group have a
cell phone with them at all times so that your parents and church can
get in touch with you during your free time or Thursday outreach
mission.
